Oh man, I love a newborn session.

Meghan reached out about a session a while back and after a couple reschedules (dad had pneumonia!) we finally got to meet up at my studio in Houston when baby boy was a month old. Isn’t he just a sweetie?! Both mom and dad are from Louisiana (just like me) and we actually have some friends in common! It’s so fun for me to get to know my clients–– it’s one of my favorite parts of this job! One of my previous clients referred them to me and I am so thankful. I love referrals! The Creech Family had me laughing the whole session.

We took their newborn photos at my photo studio in Houston. My studio has tons of natural light and the day was especially sunny! We lucked out and had more than enough light to work with. Mom borrowed a dress from my studio wardrobe and she looked so beautiful in it! I learned that baby boy was over 10 lbs at birth which was awesome (for me!) because I love big babies! My son was nearly 12 lbs at birth so I have a special place in my heart for really big babies.

Mom emailed me the night before worried about her toddler and her potential behavior and I reassured her that I HAVE SEEN IT ALL. I promised her everything would be okay–– and it was more than okay. 🙂 We did some master negotiating with the toddler that involved yogurt-covered raisins, Gwen Stefani on Sesame Street, and gummy bears and it worked! She gave us some great smiles and I couldn’t have asked for more than that. I always have a few tricks to help get little ones comfortable at sessions.

The Creech’s are absolutely the kind of people that you just can’t help but be friends with, and I loved working with them!
