This beautiful newborn session was for the Danielides family, shot in their Houston home! Their sweet baby girl is a lovely addition to their family and needed to be documented. Jamie and Alex are a wonderful couple and you can tell their children bring them so much joy. I love being the one to document a family’s love and happiness regularly.

I love this family so much and they’ve been wonderful to work with in the past several years! I’ve been capturing their love for each other and documenting their family’s growth since Jamie was pregnant three years ago!

We planned this shoot to be an in-home session, rather than shot in a studio. The Danielides have a beautiful home in the Houston Heights neighborhood and, having been there before, I knew the lighting and set-up would be perfect for a special, intimate in-home session. The location perfectly highlights their relationships in the comfort of their own home.

Side note: I love the Houston Heights neighborhood! It’s so beautiful and has so many fun things to do within walking distance. Their home is also gorgeous and has really great natural light, which is a much-added bonus to this amazing neighborhood.

We set-up for this shoot in the same areas as we did for their first daughter’s newborn session, including the bathroom! I’m willing to shoot anywhere to get that perfect light and to make the photos look their best.

Their older daughter was in the midst of potty training, so Jamie and I got to chat about all the challenges and thrills that come with that season of motherhood. There is nothing more exciting and overwhelming than taking care of a newborn AND a potty training toddler! It makes these photos even more special because this season of life often flies by in a whirlwind for busy moms, and having these keepsake photographs to reflect on helps cement those memories when our minds are devoted to other, less exciting tasks like house cleaning and keeping track of potty schedules.

I’m so glad I was able to photograph this beautiful family in their Houston home, and I can’t wait to watch their sweet family continue to grow! They signed up for my milestone package (which I highly recommend for families with new babies), which means I have the pleasure of continuing to shoot them in the coming months, as their baby’s first year takes place. It’s such a treat to get to know and connect with beautiful families like this one and I can’t wait to see how their little one has grown in a few months.
